Tanzania’s Coach Will Go For Young Blood In Forthcoming Tournaments
Taifa Stars are preparing for the four-nation tournament that is the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, as well as the qualifying matches for the African Championship finals in March next year...

The Tanzanian national soccer team head coach Marcio Maximo has said that he will give more of a chance to the young players in the squad he expects to announce early next month for the CECAFA Senior Challenge, which is set to be held in Kenya in November.

Maximo ruled out the possibility of giving a recall to some 'old' players who are plying their trade abroad. He named them as Victor Costa, Saidi Maulidi and Athumani Machupa, who are currently in top form with their clubs.

"I just want players who are below 30 years. This will enable me have a team that can challenge for titles for some years to come", he told The Daily News.

Machupa plays for Swedish first division side Vasuland IF, while Maulidi and Costa are playing for Angola's Onze Bravos and Mozambique's Agasebe de Songo respectively.

However, the Brazilian coach said that he will recall Henry Joseph, who is playing for Kongsvinger FC in Norway and Nizar Khalfan and Nadir Haroub who are employed by Vancouver White Caps of Canada.

"The three players are young and determined", he said.

He also stated that he will use the four-nation tournament in Dar-es-Salaam next month and the senior Challenge Cup in Nairobi to build a strong team for the qualifying matches for the African Championship finals in March next year.
